Cracked heels, also known as heel fissures, occur when the skin on the heel becomes dry, thickened, and eventually splits open.
Dry skin is one of the primary culprits behind cracked heels. When the skin lacks proper moisture, it becomes prone to cracking and splitting, especially in areas of pressure, such as the heels, and during cold weather like winter.
For me, cracked heels have been bothering me all year around.
After some research, I learned that keeping the skin on your heels well-hydrated is crucial for preventing cracks.
However, the current heel socks are mostly used in the night time without covering the toes.
